Brian Is the CEO of Everest Properties. Brian joined Everest in 2010 and has consulted for the Company since 1998, he currently oversees half a billion AUM. From 2006 to 2010 Brian served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Foxdales Properties, and prior to 2006 served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Business Development for Avail-TVN, Senior Vice President, Business Development for Magna Entertainment, and Senior Vice President and CFO for HomeSpace. Brian holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Pomona College. Brad has over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, resulting in over$2.2 billion in projects and transactions. As the Founding Member and Chief Investment Officer of Spyglass Realty Partners, he brings expertise in development, asset management, acquisitions/dispositions, construction, entitlements, corporate advisory, valuation, and financial modeling. With key roles at international real estate firms like Madison Partners, Cabi Developers/GICSA, and The Staubach Company, he handled significant responsibilities such as asset management and leasing for a 4.6 million square foot office portfolio in California. Holding a bachelor's in economics from UCLA, Brad's background enhances HWG's growth with meticulous oversight and strategic advantages.
Maura is the COO at Socium Advisors, oversees diverse business operations, utilizing her 10 years finance journey and M&A expertise. Starting her career post-college, Maura's early aspiration translated into roles at UBS Investment Bank, including an international stint in London. A graduate in Finance and Management from Fairfield University, she holds a Six Sigma Green Belt, showcasing her problem-solving prowess. Maura's multifaceted experience contributes to enhancing HWG's operational efficiency and strategic vision.
Brian W
Brian brings over 31 years of global investment and asset management, private equity, and investment banking expertise to HWG. His financial career highlights include successfully managing debt and equity financings exceeding $2.7 billion, orchestrating restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), and reinsurance transactions valued at over $18.5 billion. His pronounced track record includes hiring and supervising teams, building two start-up companies, and closing financings and M&A deals globally. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor to a top 10 private equity firm, Brian adeptly helps in managing over $3 billion in active capital, contributing invaluable knowledge to HWG's strategic endeavors.
Michael Harris
Michael is a fourth-generation real estate and construction professional from St. Louis, MO. He grew up on job sites and in board meetings while his father started and scaled two successful businesses, E.M. Harris Construction and Capital Consultants, that combined have generated $800MM+ in revenue. Working in the field during summer breaks, starting as a laborer in middle school and later as a carpenter’s apprentice in high school, gave him the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up.
Brings over a decade of experience in leadership and executive roles. Michael launched his career managing a department that sold and marketed a proprietary and revolutionary technology. His team and their ability to travel the world to sports and technology events helped take Yurbuds from a startup to $75MM+ revenue in three years. The company was then acquired by Harman International, now a subsidiary of Samsung.
After transitioning to the family-owned businesses, Michael continued his construction ascent by starting as a project engineer, then project manager and eventually vice president. During this time, he helped diversify his father’s ventures to consistently generate $60MM+ revenue annually.
While working in multiple roles within these companies, he also earned a master's degree in construction management from Washington University (STL).After completing his post-graduate degree, Michael started a consulting firm that provides services for business owners in real estate, construction, design, operations, and project delivery.
Brando Betti
As a Founding Member of HWG, Brando brings a diverse skill set cultivated over his years of experience in real estate and business development. His journey began with a key role in acquisitions for Silver Star, a multi-family owner/operator with over 3,500 units nationwide. This key role entailed his vital role in property evaluations, helping with the purchasing and selling endeavors of the organization, running evaluations on over $1 billion in properties. His proficiency further led to him helping oversee 13 properties within the company.
Transitioning into the business development realm, Brando successfully operated a marketing and incubator company. He and his team in helped their client portfolios achieve over $40 million in sales within one year, showcasing a 500% ROI per client. In early 2023, he experienced a liquidation event involving the sale of his stake in one of his two marketing companies.
Brando's unique insight not only spans real estate, marketing, and economic landscape, but his involvement in the technology space, coupled with an exceptional understanding of code and tech startups, positions him as an asset to HWG. Born and raised in the Netherlands, Brando's journey included representing the youth national team in snowboarding.
Brando attended Stanford’s four-year high-school program and later pursued a degree in Harvard’s computer science and business program. His entrepreneurial journey, marked by successes and failures, has endowed him with a distinctive strength and a strategic eye for positioning, launching and scaling organizations.
James L. Breitenstein,
James L. Breitenstein, CFA – Real Estate Investment & Development CFO. James L. Breitenstein is a seasoned CFO with deep expertise in real estate investment, development, construction, and private equity. He has led financial strategy for high-growth and distressed organizations, managing nearly $1 billion in assets and successfully completing six real estate funds from inception to exit. At Landsmith, he oversaw fund administration, acquisitions, dispositions, and investor relations, maximizing returns and operational efficiency.A CFA charterholder with an in-progress CIRA certification, James holds a master’s in economics from NYU, real estate broker licenses in AZ, CA, GA, and FL, and a general contractor license. James has been featured in CNBC, Bloomberg, and The Wall Street Journal.
Brian Gorban,
Brian co-manages their second-generation family office, built on California real estate, high-end custom home development, and equity investments.
Brian graduated high school at 16 and earned dual degrees in Economics and Business Administration/Finance from UC Berkeley by 20. He later obtained an MBA in Management and Strategy in just four months.Starting his career in investment banking in Palo Alto, he specialized in M&A, IPOs, and Takeover Defense before moving to the buy-side in San Diego, which managed $130B at its peak.
Turning adversity into opportunity, Brian spent the next decade with the State Government, working on the newly created alternative energy & advanced transportation financing authority and thereafter 529 College Savings Plan. In 2009, he served as the sole analyst in approving $320M in sales tax exemptions to a then struggling Tesla Motors saving several thousands of jobs while creating billions in tax revenue for the State.

Stu has 25 years of experience in corporate real estate, handling nearly $3 billion in transactions and over 15 million square feet of commercial office, retail, and industrial properties. He is the founder and Principal of Spyglass Investment and Advisory Group, a full-service commercial real estate firm established in 2009 in Southern California. Spyglass has developed numerous retail projects, including several for DaVita across California. Stu's extensive expertise spans site selection, acquisitions, design, lease negotiations, and construction management. Previously, Stu was Managing Director at Cabi Developers, where he raised occupancy from 79% to 92%, increasing NOI from $59 million to $72 million in just 18 months by negotiating over 250 leases. He also held a leadership position at The Staubach Company, focusing on strategic planning, negotiations, and mentoring new hires.

David Ruttenberg
David Ruttenberg is the Managing Partner of Ruttenberg Gordon Investments. David has a wealth of investment experience, including being in the General Partnership of 20,000 apartment units, 3 Private Equity Funds, and a private real estate lender. He is also a board member and advisor to many of the 140 private businesses in which he is an investor. David's current focus is on Energy and Green Energy Infrastructure, Deep Technology, Advanced Material Science, and Critical Minerals. His portfolio is diversified across all of these sectors as well as others. David studied Real Estate Economics and Finance at the London School of Economics after playing tennis and studying Quantitative Economics at Tufts University.

Jason Glasgow is Division President for Richmond American Homes (RAH) in the Pacific Northwest, focused primarily in Oregon and southern Washington. RAH was acquired by Sekisui House, a publicly-traded Japanese homebuilder, in 2024, combining to become the 5th largest homebuilder in the US. Prior to Richmond American Homes, Mr. Glasgow was President and COO of Avenue Homes, a leading infill SFR and fourplex/townhome builder in Los Angeles County.
